Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Do I need prior experience to join a class?

No prior experience is necessary! We offer classes mainly for beginners.

What should I bring to my first class?

We provide all the tools and materials you’ll need. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting a bit messy, and closed-toe shoes are required. Bringing your own apron is recommended.

Can I book a private session or group event?

Yes, we offer private sessions and group events, such as birthday parties, team-building activities, and special occasions. Private bookings can be made for up to 25 people for our hand building classes and 4 people for our wheel throwing classes. Please contact us directly to discuss your needs and availability.

Is the studio accessible for people with disabilities?

Yes, Mitra Ceramic House is committed to being an inclusive space. Our studio is wheelchair accessible, and we strive to accommodate the needs of all participants. If you have specific accessibility requirements, please let us know in advance.

Is there parking available?
Street parking is available nearby. There is also 2 hours parking available at West Village and Soda Factory that are a few minutes walking distance from the studio.

Can I take home my pieces on the workshop day?

Typically, pottery pieces need time to dry and be fired before they can be taken home, so it’s unlikely you’ll be able to take them home on the same day as the workshop. If your pieces need glazing, the process takes even longer.

Waiting time for bisque fired items are approximately 4 weeks

Waiting time for glazed fired items are approximatley 9 weeks.

Can I bring the pieces I made at home for firing?

Unfortunately we do not offer firing service.

How long will you keep my work?

Due to our limited storage space, we only keep your pieces 3 months after your workshop. We apprciate you pick up your pieces as soon as you notified by email that your pieces are readyfor collection.

Will you contact me when my work is ready?

We will send you an email providing a few collection dates.

If you haven't received any email from us, please contact us after 5 weeks of your workshop.

If your workshop includes glazing, only follow-up after 9 weeks of your workshop.
